Sewing with Diane.

Diane is a seamstress. She used to sew for public and made extra money this way while staying at home with her three children.

“I just have to make summer dresses for your girls!” Diane suggested one day.

And even though we ended up staying at “Nothing But Nature” for 12 days while waiting for the new brake control panel to arrive, there was not enough time to make 3 dresses.

Leona was the only fortunate one to receive a beautiful purple calico dress, lovingly made by Diane. Leona had picked the fabric and the style. And Diane made sure to find the time to put it all together.

Between everything that needed to be done on the farm (it goes without saying that summer IS the busies time here!), Diane would still scrape an hour here and there, stay a bit longer past her bed time, sew while she and the girls were watching “Little house on the prairie” series (every weekday at 4 pm), and managed to finish the project.

I have started a skirt for Milana, but will have to finish it somewhere else while traveling (I did take a sewing machine with me!).

But I managed to finish a fabric storage panel for Diane. I hope she’ll find a nice spot for it either in her kitchen or sewing room. Something to remember me by.

Congratulations to both of you seamstresses! Beautiful work ! The color looks so gorgeous on Leona with her blond hair.
Take care.
